Effusions in cytology

This interactive workshop is intended for veterinarians who wish to deepen their knowledge of cytological evaluation of body fluids. Under expert guidance, participants will learn how to properly analyze effusion samples from the thoracic and abdominal cavities, as well as other body secretions, with special emphasis on the diagnosis of feline infectious peritonitis (FIP).
The workshop includes practical microscope work, examination of real samples, and detailed explanations of characteristic cytological findings. In addition to effusions, participants will also have the opportunity to analyze urine samples, further expanding their understanding of the cytological features of various fluids.

Through a combination of theory, hands-on work, and interactive discussion, participants will:

• acquire fundamental principles of effusion cytology interpretation,
• learn to recognize pathological changes and typical patterns,
• enhance their diagnostic skills for everyday veterinary practice.
