The workshop covers the topic of biosecurity on poultry farms, with an emphasis on methods for verifying the effectiveness of implemented measures, identifying inconsistencies between theoretical and practical biosecurity measures, EU-level regulations, and the major challenges and issues related to compliance, taking into account the often limited possibilities for improving measures within a farm. The biggest challenges and most common problems related to compliance will be addressed through practical examples and the presentation of field research results.
The workshop is interactive, allowing participants to bring photos and recordings from the farms where they work and share their own practical experiences and challenges they face. Key aspects of biosecurity will be discussed with the aim of identifying critical points and providing practical solutions. Risk assessment systems and protocols for evaluating the level of biosecurity measures on farms will also be presented.
Competences: Participants will be able to identify critical points and assess the level of biosecurity on poultry farms using existing protocols, as well as develop ideas for improving biosecurity measures in order to reduce the risk of pathogen introduction and spread.
