Throughout this workshop, which includes four hours of theory and four hours of practical training, participants will learn the mechanism of cranial cruciate ligament injury and master the basics of the TPLO method. TPLO is a proven technique for managing cruciate ligament rupture in dogs of all sizes, dynamically stabilizing the stifle by eliminating cranial tibial thrust during weight bearing.
This specially designed introductory course will help participants master key elements of the TPLO technique. Knee arthrotomy and TPLO will be performed on plastic models and cadavers. The course also includes preoperative planning and postoperative assessment of the technique on radiographs.
Basic knowledge of stifle anatomy and surgical experience with stifle approaches and plate placement are required for registration.
